Leeman Road Millenium Green

About

Following its formation in 1998, the Leeman Road Millennium Green Trust has transformed what was an area of scrubland in York into a six-and-a-quarter acre green site, eradicating weeds, planting trees, bulbs and wild flowers and encouraging wildlife by providing special habitats. All the work was done by volunteer trustees.

The Leeman Road Millennium Green Trust aims to maintain the Leeman Road Millennium Green as a public open space for walking, recreation and community events.

What are Millennium Greens?

The Millennium Greens Scheme is a nationwide project funded by the National Lottery, which aims to provide communities with green open spaces. Each Millennium Green is different, designed and maintained by its own community.
